McDougall’s Maximum Weight Loss Plan

McDougall Maximum Weight Loss Rules:

  1. Eliminate All Animal Foods
  2. Eliminate All Oils (yes that means NO ADDED OIL)
  3. Eliminate All High-Fat Plant Foods (nuts, seeds, seed spreads - tahini, avacodos, soybean products - tofu)
  4. Eliminate All Flour Products (breads, pasta, bagels, pretzels, crackers)
  5. Eat Whole Grains and Potatoes (rice, barley, millet, oats)
  6. Eat Legumes (beans, peas and lentils)
  7. Make Green and Yellow Veggies 1/3 to 1/2 of Your Meal (salad greens, broccoli, onions, tomatoes, celery, cucumbers, etc)
  8. Eat Uncooked Foods (at least 1 HUGE salad a day)
  9. Restrict Fresh Fruit to No More Than 2 Servings a day. Avoid Dried Fruit, Fruit Juice
  10. Use Simple Sugar Sparingly

Here is a basic formula for structuring my day:

Breakfast: Kale & Fruit Smoothie

Lunch: Salad or Leftovers from previous dinner

Dinner: McDougall approved recipe + salad
